You have to know your potential customers

If you want to succeed in life then you have to know the type of customers you want to attract to your organisation. If you do not specify then any customer good or bad will qualify to be on your customer list. To help in building relationship with your customer, you have to specify the your customer in the following fields;

  •  Demographic
  • Geographic
  • Psychographic

The details of the profile of your customer will guide you in your marketing effort. The aspects considered in preparing the profile of your customer will include the following among others;

How does your customer look like?

Describe the demographics or the look of your customer including age, race, gender, income, marital status, educational background and occupation.

 

Where does your customer live?

Describe clearly where your customer lives to help you reach the customer.

 

How does the home of your customer look like?

This includes the size and type of the home, the area and its contents.

 

Define your target customer in terms of psychographics

Describe the personality, interests, lifestyle and values of the customer.

 

What are your customer buying behaviours?

Describe your customer’s buying behaviours including the budget if you can.

What are the attitudes of target customer?

Talk about how the customer thinks and feels about products and services. Is the customer currently using your products?

What industries does your customer belong to?

This is important as each industry has its own challenges.

 What does the profile mean to you?

 You have to put some life in the profile otherwise you will have wasted your time to prepare it.
