Do you need a personal mission statement in life?

Yes a personal mission statement is necessary for your success in life. A mission statement spells out your reasons for existing on this planet and it is your guide along the highway of life. It is an inspiring statement which spells out or clarifies the purpose of your existence in this world. It helps you in decision making. Therefore your mission should be precise and clear. You should consider the following when designing and implementing your mission statement.

You have to determine who you are

You need to find out a lot about yourself in the process of charting your highway of life. The following questions among others will be of help;

What are your values?

What inspires you?

What are you good at?

What things have impacted your life?

How do you want to live your life?

Do not forget you are the master of your destiny and you have therefore to make a decision of how you want to live your life. You have to choose between success and failure in life as you are 100% responsible for your life.

Draft mission statement

You have to be honest with yourself when drafting your mission. Do not use short cuts of cut and paste approach to your mission statement. The mission is yours and cannot be like some body’s else. Take some time to think about your mission. The information you gathered when determining who you are and how you want to live your life is very helpful at this stage.
